Our Story

I am an experienced educator with over a decade of teaching internationally, working with early and upper elementary students in a variety of classroom settings. Throughout my career, I’ve seen how deeply children thrive when they are given space to explore, create, and express themselves in meaningful ways.

The Art Nook grew from my belief that creativity should be a central part of every child’s learning experience—not an extra. I wanted to create a space where children are free to experiment with materials, take creative risks, and focus on the process of making rather than a perfect end product.

After years of working within structured classroom environments, I felt called to build something more flexible and child-centered. The Art Nook is the result: a creative studio space where children are encouraged to follow their ideas, build confidence, and develop their own artistic voice.

This summer, I am piloting The Art Nook in Cochrane at Spray Lakes, and I am excited to bring these hands-on, process-based art experiences to the community.
